an adventure

Yesterday we had an adventure. Jason had the day off so we decided to get out and visit the new outlet mall that's only six miles from home. It was unusually cool and overcast (unusual considering the day before I was wearing shorts) so we grabbed our coats, packed up the stroller and headed out. And we no sooner parked than it started to rain. Hard. A torrent of rain. At the outdoor mall.

So we did what any normal person does - we just went with it. We raced the stroller up the sidewalks, trying to stay under the eaves but to no avail. We were pretty damp by the time we reached the first store. Penny thought it was great, out of breath from laughing at the rain and the run, getting a thrill out of the adventure of it all. We didn't really have the money for shopping but we checked out all the stores and let Penny stop wherever she felt like it. Which mostly included every area with a ride. She climbed on everything and splashed in every puddle. And isn't that the whole point behind an adventure: to explore and do, without time limits or too many restrictions.
